SDJ also places a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability as part of its operations.

Ensuring that its activities align with responsible environmental stewardship. To manage water runoff from its intermediate stockpiles, the company has constructed three strategically placed sedimentation ponds in port.

These sedimentation ponds play a vital role in collecting and settling runoff water, allowing sediments and impurities to settle before the water is discharged into nearby rivers. By implementing this system, SDJ ensures that the water leaving its facilities meets strict environmental standards, safeguarding local ecosystems and minimizing the impact on surrounding waterways.

SDJ has a dust net measuring 20 meters in height and 126 meters in length, installed near the coal dumping area leading to the crusher. This dust net serves as a barrier to filter out dust generated during the coal dumping process, preventing it from being carried away by the wind. By utilizing this dust net, the dust particles are effectively captured and filtered before they can disperse into the surrounding air. This helps maintain clean air quality and ensures a safe environment for workers and nearby communities.

Efforts are underway to increase the total loading capacity to 12 barges per day, further enhancing the port’s capabilities.

With its robust infrastructure and continuous investment in improving facilities, PT Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya plays a critical role in supporting the coal industry in South Sumatra, ensuring the smooth and efficient transport of coal to both domestic and international markets.
